The Pierrot Quartett was founded in spring 2011 by four young musicians who just had started their studies at the Staatliche Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, Germany. Since then they dedicated themselves intensely to playing as a string quartet and were fortunate enough to celebrate their first success soon after forming:
\nIn February 2012 the Pierrot Quartett won the first price at the Carl-Wendling Chamber Music Competition and was awarded a scholarship by the Gert Volker\u00a0Dill Foundation. Furthermore in summer 2012, the quartet was awarded a scholarship by the Volksbank Stuttgart. As one of only four internationally elected participants, the Pierrot Quartett took part in the Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy in September 2012 in Norway where they worked intensively with Prof. Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartett), the Quatuor Eb\u00e8ne and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
\nIn 2013, the quartet participated in the International Chamber Music Campus Weikersheim by the Jeunesses Musicales and received guidance from Prof. Heime M\u00fcller (former Artemis Quartett) and the Vogler Quartett, amongst others. Working with Prof. Eberhard Feltz and Prof. Donald Weilerstein during the International Summer Academy for Chamber Music Niedersachsen 2016 meant an impressive new impulse to them.
\nIn 2016 the quartet won the first price at the „Musikpreis“-competition of the Lions Club Stuttgart, in 2017 they won the second prize at the International Orlando Chamber Music Competition in the Netherlands. Moreover, the Pierrot Quartett was semifinalist in the International Mozart Competition for string quartet 2014 in Salzburg and the Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award in Lugano 2015.
\nThe four young ladies have developed an intense concert schedule and are guests of many chamber music festivals. As a quartet they have performed in venues including the Museum f\u00fcr Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, Residenz W\u00fcrzburg, Mozarteum Salzburg, Maison Heinrich Heine Paris, Frimurerlogen Trondheim, Marmorsaal Wiesbaden, St. Severin Keitum (Sylt), Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Akademie Schloss Solitude Stuttgart, Kulturzentrum Zehntscheuer in Rottenburg am Neckar, Gammertinger Schlossfestspiele, Davos Festival and Jazz- und Klassiktage T\u00fcbingen.
\nFor a long time the ensemble was taught by Prof. Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartett) and Prof. Stefan Fehlandt\u00a0(Vogler Quartett). From\u00a02016 until 2019, the Pierrot Quartett studied a master of string quartet with\u00a0Prof. Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartett) at the Academy of Music, Drama and Media Hanover.
